The HR Generalist plays a key role in supporting the HR Director across all facets of human resources, with a strong focus on recruiting, onboarding/offboarding, employee relations, benefits and leave administration, HRIS management, and payroll. This dynamic, hands-on position is people-focused and offers the opportunity to make a real impact while supporting teams across multiple locations.

  • Foster strong, positive relationships with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Accurately process weekly payroll for both hourly and salaried employees.
  • Lead the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding efforts for hourly manufacturing and distribution roles; support recruitment for additional positions as needed.
  • Provide comprehensive administrative support for health and benefit programs, including enrollments, terminations, changes, and disability claims.
  • Maintain accurate HRIS records for new hires, terminations, job changes, promotions, and pay adjustments.
  • Organize and manage personnel files to ensure they are accurate, complete, and compliant with all applicable regulations and company policies.
  • Generate and analyze HR reports and metrics using HRIS and other reporting tools.
  • Administer leave of absence programs - including FMLA and short-term disability - in compliance with applicable laws and company policies.
  • Stay up to date on HR best practices, legal requirements, and industry trends in talent management and employee relations.
  • Enjoyment of wearing many hats is necessary.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of professional HR experience, preferably within a manufacturing or production setting.
  • Hands-on experience with payroll processing.
  • Experience administering leaves of absence, including FMLA.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with related software systems.
  • Comfortable with HRIS platforms, preferably Paylocity, or ability to learn quickly.
  • Solid understanding of local, state, and federal employment laws and compliance requirements.
  • Exhibit strong leadership presence and the confidence to make decisions and influence outcomes.
  • Foster cooperation and mutual respect, even in high-stress or emotionally charged situations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present effectively to diverse audiences and stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail with strong follow-through.
