The HR Generalist works across multiple areas of HR including general HR program/policy development, administration, and compliance; employee hiring, onboarding, termination, and records maintenance; employee and labor relations and communications; rewards program coordination and/or administration. Responsibilities may include managing projects/processes, working independently with limited supervision. May coach and review the work of lower-level professionals. Problems faced are difficult and sometimes complex. Your Day to Day: Advises, coaches, and counsels managers and employees on employee relations issues to promote positive relationships between managers and employees. Ensures equitable application of organization policies and procedures while applying sound knowledge of relevant employee relations and applicable state and federal compliance laws. Conducts workplace investigations for complex, EEO, and/or sensitive employee relations situations such as allegations of discrimination, harassment, Title VII violations, retaliation, misconduct, hostile work environment, and termination determinations. Interfaces directly with government agencies and outside counsel as needed. Provide guidance to management and employees on the interpretation and administration of company policies, procedures, and programs. Monitor the effectiveness and efficiency of HR operations and services. Leads or participates in internal projects and workstreams as needed. Identify and recommend methods to resolve problems, update, simplify, enhance, and optimize existing processes, procedures, policies, and technologies. Leads or supports cross-functional continuous improvement initiatives. Collaborate with the members of the Human Resources group to continuously identify and improve people programs and processes through building/updating SOPs, process documentation, employee-facing resources and recommending improvements. Responds and resolves escalated cases in more complex HR scenarios. Use sound judgment, people and business acumen, and practical experience to lead or support initiatives such as organizational design and change, talent assessment and gap identification, and communication and change management strategies. Supports HR leaders in the planning and execution of strategic HR projects, programs, and initiatives. May lead HR project teams in related projects, programs, or initiatives.
