About The Position

The HR Generalist will play a pivotal role in supporting the human resources functions within the accommodation and food services industry, ensuring smooth and compliant HR operations. This position is responsible for managing a wide range of HR activities including recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, and compliance with labor laws. The HR Generalist will act as a trusted advisor to management and employees, fostering a positive work environment and promoting organizational culture. By effectively handling employee inquiries and resolving workplace issues, the role contributes to employee satisfaction and retention. Ultimately, the HR Generalist ensures that HR practices align with business objectives and support the overall success of the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a human resources role, preferably within the accommodation and food services industry.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations relevant to the industry.
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional HR certification such as PHR, SHRM-CP, or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with payroll processing and timekeeping systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with employee engagement and retention strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full-cycle recruitment process including job postings, screening, interviewing, and onboarding new hires.
  • Administer employee benefits programs and assist employees with benefits-related questions and issues.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records in compliance with legal requirements and company policies.
  • Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of HR initiatives and programs that enhance employee engagement and performance.
  • Conduct investigations and resolve employee relations issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Support performance management processes including performance reviews and disciplinary actions.
  • Coordinate training and development activities to support employee growth and organizational needs.
  • Prepare and analyze HR metrics and reports to inform decision-making and continuous improvement.
