The HR position involves a variety of essential functions including compensation and benefits administration, employee relations, compliance with HR policies, and data management. The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to foster strong relationships with employees across diverse backgrounds. The HR professional will be responsible for administering employee compensation and benefit plans, ensuring compliance with payroll and tax regulations, and maintaining accurate employee records in the HRIS. Additionally, the role includes supporting performance management processes and collaborating on HR initiatives to enhance the employee experience in a fast-paced environment.

  • Administer employee compensation and benefit plans accurately, providing timely support for benefit-related questions, especially during new hire and open enrollments.
  • Ensure compliance with payroll, benefits, and tax regulations, supporting a seamless experience for employees.
  • Ensure compliance and record keeping for Workers' Comp administration.
  • Perform HRIS data entry and backup to process full payroll cycle and manual checks.
  • Serve as the primary HR contact for employees regarding leaves, compensation, benefits, and workplace issues, building strong relationships and promoting a positive work environment.
  • Promptly resolve employee relations issues ensuring accurate documentation and timely resolution and foster a collaborative culture.
  • Support internal employee investigations alongside the Vice President Human Resources.
  • Assist in developing and implementing HR policies that comply with federal and state labor laws and data protection regulations.
  • Maintain accurate employee records in the HRIS, ensuring compliance with workforce regulations and providing reliable data for reporting.
  • Support performance management processes, including quarterly and annual reviews, and assist managers with performance development plans and review documentation.
  • Collaborate on People Team projects and initiatives to enhance HR processes and improve the employee experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Generate ad hoc reports as requested and scheduled reports for system updates, year-end reports, and auditor requests.
  • Maintain and test the HRIS system, including organizational setup and time clock setup.
  • 3-5 years professional HR experience, including payroll processing and benefits management
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or other business-related field
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently while maintaining an effective and productive work environment
  • High level of organization and attention to detail
  • Extensive experience navigating HRIS systems and strong understanding for its functionality
  • Strong understanding of payroll, benefits administration, and compliance with local and federal labor laws
  • Experience with Benefit and 401K Audit/5500 support
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, with the capability to clearly explain policies and handle sensitive issues empathetically and professionally
  • Ability to foster trust and build relationships with employees across different cultural backgrounds
  • Keen attention to detail to maintain accuracy in HR data and adherence to labor laws, privacy regulations, and work policies
  • Strong time management skills to balance multiple HR functions and deadlines in a fast-paced remote environment.
  • SHRM-CP or equivalent certification
  • DOT, FMCSA regulatory experience is a plus
