About The Position

The Human Resources Generalist at Lutheran Hospital plays a vital role in supporting the HR department and employees by providing a wide range of human resources services. This position is responsible for assisting employees with benefits, maintaining data integrity and employee records, and participating in HR initiatives. The HR Generalist is key in onboarding, new hire orientation, employee coaching, and counseling, while also ensuring compliance with hospital and regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • 1 - 3 years of experience in business administration and/or human resources.
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or a related field.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Ability to learn and use HR software and other relevant technology.

Responsibilities

  • Assist employees with benefits and maintain data integrity and employee records.
  • Participate in HR initiatives and support policy and procedure reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital and regulatory standards.
  • Handle special projects as assigned by HR leadership.
  • Manage the employee termination process and conduct exit interviews.
  • Counsel and assist leaders on employee discipline and performance improvement plans.
  • Investigate employee complaints and grievances, consulting with leadership for resolutions.
  • Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
