About The Position

The HR Generalist II at Protolabs is responsible for providing comprehensive HR support across various functional areas, including benefits administration, employee relations, performance management, onboarding, recruitment, and compliance with employment laws. This hybrid role requires a proactive approach to advising managers, facilitating organizational change, and ensuring employee engagement while maintaining accurate records and compliance with regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of HR experience.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS applications and analytics.
  • Excellent planning, problem solving, prioritizing, and business partnering skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of employment law.
  • Ability to influence and successfully implement organizational changes.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced changing environment.
  • Ability to work with confidential information.
  • Demonstrates Proto Labs Values of Teamwork, Achievement, and Trust.

Nice To Haves

  • HR certification (SPHR or PHR) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Advise managers on legal guidelines for hiring, managing, disciplining, and evaluating employee performance.
  • Assist with the buy-in and implementation of processes for organizational change initiatives and HR programs.
  • Conduct employee relations counseling and exit interviews.
  • Facilitate the performance management process by supporting both managers and employees.
  • Support the administration and implementation of the annual merit increase and talent planning process.
  • Facilitate orientation, onboarding, and training activities.
  • Assist with the recruitment and selection process including job requisitions, job postings, setting up interviews, interviewing, and collecting interview feedback.
  • Lead the leave management and accommodation processes.
  • Participate in initial data intake and analysis for compensation requests.
  • Maintain accurate employee records to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Lead employee engagement activities and programs.
  • Ensure compliance with Human Resources policies, procedures, requirements, and applicable legal regulations.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.
