The Human Resources Generalist has the responsibility for supporting the general management, strategic planning, and fulfillment of all HR services. In addition, this position supports the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of a diverse range of local and corporate policies and procedures, in support of established values and goals. Effective problem solving, real-time coaching and conflict resolution are critical skills to be successful in this role. The Human Resources Generalist will work closely with the HR Director, General Manager, and Plant Leadership Team to achieve the short and long-term goals for the facility for their respective area of responsibility. The Human Resources Generalist will support and at times direct employee-related initiatives and training.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or Human Resources Certification required.
  • Three years related experience.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment with labor experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in all aspects of a multi-functional HR Department including Compensation, Employment, Benefits, Training, and Employee Relations.
  • Demonstrates compliance with all applicable Federal and State Laws including EEO, FMLA, HIPAA, and ADA.
  • Conducts periodic training on applicable topics including sexual harassment, diversity, and employment law.
  • Responsible for meeting the staffing needs of the organization, including selection, testing, and hiring of employees as well as conducting new employee orientation and onboarding.
  • Partners in the development of and improving the knowledge and skills of the organization, including analyzing training needs and determining how to deliver the training needs.
  • Leads employee relations by addressing complaints, settling disputes, resolving conflicts, and conducting internal investigative procedures.
  • Supports and participates in the administrative aspects of the human resources function including maintaining records and confidential employee files, providing statistical and regulatory reporting.
  • Partners with the Plant Leadership Team to support the tracking of attendance and delivery of attendance feedback.
  • Consults and advises the HR Director on topics of interest that could have a major impact on employee morale and engagement.
  • Coordinates the coop/intern/summer student and campus recruiting process for the Plant.
  • Manages leave using the company vendor.
  • Active participation in the Operational Excellence and Safety initiatives.
  • Other Duties as assigned.
