About The Position

The position focuses on labor retention, human resources, compliance, safety programs, and training within the company. The role promotes retention through cultural worker programs and assists in administering the District Climate Survey Action Plan to enhance employee engagement. It supports business growth plans related to employee retention and engagement, ensuring a fulfilling work environment. Requirements

  • Demonstrated knowledge of the human resources field.
  • Understanding of state and federal employment regulations.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Working knowledge of the farming industry.
  • Exceptional communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in use of HRMS/HRIS systems.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish required.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate when appropriate.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred or combined experience and education in Human Resources or Business Administration.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in Human Resources or related field.
  • Professional certification strongly preferred: HRCI/PHR, PHR-CA, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP.
  • Experience in diverse cultural orientation and employee relations issues.

Responsibilities

  • Promote retention through company cultural worker's programs - Worker’s Come First.
  • Assist in administering the company's District Climate Survey Action Plan to enhance employee engagement.
  • Support company business/growth plans related to employee retention and engagement.
  • Data collection and report generation on employee demographics, new hires, turnover, retention, and absenteeism.
  • Effectively manage and resolve employee issues and investigations following company practices and legal requirements.
  • Assist managers and field employees with the Reasonable Suspicion Program.
  • Conduct internal investigations and manage case documentation and reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable labor laws and assist with employee handbook revisions.
  • Audit for rest & meal breaks and 7th workday compliance and provide necessary training.
  • Coordinate compliance updates and support the Benefits Specialist with LOAs when needed.
  • Analyze and recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures related to HR services.
  • Assist in coordinating Years of Service program for field employees and planning district company events.
  • Provide safety training and guidance to field personnel on safety-related issues.
  • Conduct daily safety inspections and report unsafe actions to leadership.
  • Prepare reports on inspections and accident investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Monitor enforcement of safety policies and procedures and collaborate with other departments for training delivery.
  • Review and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training and work assessments.
  • Identify and coordinate training for crew leaders and overhead teams on company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain training material database for all risk departments and participate in safety initiatives.

Benefits

  • Pay Scale: $34.00 to $37.00
  • Valid California Driver’s license and ability to be insured under the company insurance.
  • Ability to travel 10 percent of the time – domestic.
