About The Position

The HR Generalist – Compensation and Rewards is responsible for supporting the design, analysis, and administration of the Frederick Health’s compensation programs and employee recognition initiatives.  This role combines core HR generalist responsibilities with a strong emphasis on data-driven compensation practices and meaningful reward and recognition strategies that enhance employee engagement.  The position partners with leadership to ensure pay practices are competitive and aligned with organizational goals, while also fostering a culture of appreciation through structured recognition programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, finance or related field.
  • 3-5 years of HR experience with demonstrated experience in compensation, analytics or total rewards.
  • Strong analytical skills with advanced proficiency in Excel and data interpretation.
  • Experience working with compensation surveys and salary benchmarking tools.
  • Excellent organizational and event coordination skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, analyze, and interpret compensation survey data to benchmark positions and ensure market competitiveness.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of salary structures, pay ranges, and job classifications.
  • Conduct job evaluations and internal equity analyses, provide salary recommendations for new hires, promotions, and transfers.
  • Support the design and administration of special pay programs, including incentives, shift differentials, retention bonuses, and other premium pay practices.
  • Prepare compensation related budget projections, including annual increases, market adjustments, and incentive forecasts.
  • Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and analytics related to compensation trends, workforce costs, and organizational metrics.
  • Ensure compensation practices comply with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
  • Chair the Reward and Recognition Committee. Administer and enhance employee recognition programs, including service awards, milestone celebrations, and peer recognition initiatives.
  • Coordinate special events including Health Care week, department recognitions, picnics and holiday events.
  • Track and analyze recognition program effectiveness and participation; recommend improvements based on feedback and data.
  • Manage vendor relationships and budgets related to recognition platforms, awards, and events.
  • Contribute to HR projects, process improvements, and system implementations.
  • Participate in onboarding and orientation programs including communication of total rewards offerings.
  • Interface with the benefits team related to leave of absence and retirement plan.
