About The Position

This position allows a hybrid remote work option. Onsite requirements are determined based on training and support needs and may require up to full time onsite presence at times. This position creates and delivers training for Carilion's electronic medical record, EPIC, and other technologies used in the organization. Must be able to consult and contract on training needs, manage large education projects, and training industry concepts including designing for adult learners and learning measurement. Must be able to simultaneously manage multiple projects/assignments and work well independently and as part of a team. Opportunity for motivated individual with background in project management or instructional design. Prefer 5+ years of previous training experience, either designing and/or teaching. Strong project management, consulting and writing skills required. Preference for candidates who enjoy a fast-paced environment and are flexible and adaptive as needs change. Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills. Must have the ability to understand details of workflows/software and have the ability to design and deliver instructional materials/training in a way that promotes learning and engagement. A writing sample and demonstration of training skills is required. Experience with EPIC EMR preferred, as well as experience in an ambulatory/physician office (clinical or support staff). Familiarity with current trends in Healthcare IT highly useful to the role.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or 8 years of equivalent experience.
• Prefer 5+ years of previous training experience, either designing and/or teaching.
• Excellent customer service and written/verbal communication skills, including presentation skills.
• Demonstrated analytical thinking and interpersonal skills.
• Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
• Demonstrated resourcefulness and ability to work on multiple tasks/projects while meeting deadlines.

Nice To Haves

• Project management or relevant Epic certification.
• Experience with EPIC EMR.
• Experience in an ambulatory/physician office (clinical or support staff).
• Lawson knowledge preferred.
• Familiarity with current trends in Healthcare IT.
