About The Position

The HR Coordinator position at International Paper is designed to support managers and employees across multiple facilities in various human resource-related areas. This role involves coordinating recruitment processes, maintaining compliance with federal contractor requirements, managing HR files, and assisting with employee benefits and payroll. The HR Coordinator will also participate in safety programs and facilitate employee recognition and engagement activities.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three years general administrative human resources experience.
  • High School Diploma/GED required; college degree in Human Resources or related field highly desirable.
  • PHR certification strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws.
  • High level of diplomacy, tact, and judgment with a positive attitude.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information professionally.
  • Superior organizational skills with attention to detail in communications.
  • Ability to learn new skills quickly and handle multiple priorities.
  • Experience with SAP strongly desired; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required.
  • Prior work experience in a non-union, multi-shift manufacturing environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support managers and employees in HR-related areas across multiple facilities.
  • Coordinate selection processes for hourly positions, including outreach and communication with staffing agencies.
  • Conduct pre-employment assessments and maintain recruiting files.
  • Coordinate orientation and onboarding activities for new hires.
  • Maintain the Affirmative Action Planning system and ensure compliance with federal contractor requirements.
  • Create presentations regarding policies and work rules for employees.
  • Maintain accuracy and security of HR-related files according to records retention policy.
  • Process human resource-related forms and handle HR-related inquiries.
  • Manage payroll processes and ensure accurate coding of hourly employees.
  • Track hourly attendance and initiate disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Assist with employee benefits and resolve related issues.
  • Support processes related to FMLA/OFLA and other leave policies.
  • Process unemployment-related claims and surface employee concerns.
  • Assist in organizing facility functions and maintaining employee bulletin boards.
