About The Position

The HR Coordinator is responsible for managing various aspects of payroll and personnel records, including FML, Workers Compensation, and Disability. This role involves monitoring and approving time records for approximately 200 hourly employees using KRONOS, processing overtime pay, and maintaining compliance with payroll policies. The HR Coordinator will also interact regularly with department supervisors and staff, ensuring accurate record-keeping and effective communication regarding payroll-related issues.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or graduation equivalent.
  • Three years of related experience required.
  • Proficiency in software applications, databases, spreadsheets, and word processing (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Detail-oriented and accurate with strong organizational skills.

  • Experience working in KRONOS.
  • Knowledge of SAP.
  • Prior experience working with payroll.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, edit, and approve high-volume time records in KRONOS for weekly payroll.
  • Process weekly overtime pay and student payroll.
  • Initiate historical edits in KRONOS and payroll forms for new hires, annual increases, and terminations.
  • Oversee E210 time-keeping electronic forms and maintain knowledge of BU hourly rates and payroll policies.
  • Process weekly overtime, shift differential, and on-call pay for non-exempt staff and BU employees.
  • Enter hours in CATS time system for casual staff and generate annual increase notification letters.
  • Initiate payroll-related cost transfers in SAP and hire students in SAP.
  • Serve as point person in Timesheet X for student payroll and maintain accurate records of FMLA paperwork.
  • Track FMLA usage and coordinate expiration processes with supervisors and Labor Relations.
  • Initiate Employment Actions for staff including step increases and terminations.
  • Monitor overpayments and coordinate collection/repayment processes.
  • Prepare personnel requisitions for submission to Central Human Resources and may coordinate interview schedules.
  • Provide assistance to managers and employees regarding payroll/personnel issues.
  • Coordinate probationary reviews for BU and staff.
  • Authorize final time records and calculate vacation payouts for resigning or transferring employees.
  • Gather sensitive information regarding grievances and disciplinary actions.
  • Develop and maintain electronic records to track payroll information and generate reports.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives and perform finance-related duties such as preparing purchase orders and processing vendor invoices.
