The Payroll / HR Coordinator will support the day-to-day HR operations, elevate the employee experience, and be responsible for providing excellent HR service for the associates at their site location. The responsibilities will include HR process execution and communication, HR data and reporting, benefits support, payroll support, policy compliance, and HR documentation. This role acts as a primary point of contact for employees seeking assistance with HR-related inquiries, ensuring prompt and accurate resolution of issues. This position will work closely with local HR teams, support multiple sites in Wisconsin (Wausau, Stratford, Reed City) and be a partner across a centralized HR Coordinator and Operations team.

  • Support bi-weekly payroll processing by ensuring accurate employee timekeeping records and resolving payroll-related issues.
  • Collaborate with employees and supervisors to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues at timeclock systems, ensuring accurate timekeeping and smooth operation.
  • Train new associates and supervisors in how to use the HRIS system.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in HR databases and personnel files.
  • Efficiently create and process reports from HRIS databases.
  • Enter data and maintain HRIS records to ensure up to date and accurate information.
  • Work collaboratively with fellow HR Coordinators to provide cross-site HR support.
  • Assist with maintenance and distribution of HR communications as well as communication boards.
  • Answer and direct incoming telephone calls.
  • Greet and assist visitors, providing them with necessary information and directing them to the correct location or person.
  • Assist with planning and coordinating HR and company events and programs.
  • Assist with various employee relations events as needed.
  • Review and process requests for information for unemployment claims.
  • Assist with new hire onboarding and orientation activities.
  • Facilitate Payroll and Benefit training in new hire orientation.
  • Assist new hires with submitting their biometric information into the time clock system.
  • Assist new hires in accessing and navigating the Workday system.
  • Track the completion of benefit enrollments, proactively contacting employees to remind them of enrollment deadlines.
  • Input new hire data in database and process new hire files and timecards.
  • Maintain and manage the uniform program for the production team.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Verification of employment inquiries via the work number.
  • Coordinate, monitor, and ensure the timely completion of employee acknowledgments for compliance-related requirements.
  • Create and maintain personnel, benefit and payroll files for employees per legal requirements.
  • Create, manage, and administer the system for employee identification and building security badges.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 2-year Human Resources experience.
  • Proficiency in HRIS (Workday knowledge is a plus) and other HR Related software.
  • Computer proficiency - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
  • Excellent customer service, listening, and relationship-building skills.
  • Knowledge of current employment practices and regulations required.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to occasionally travel to other nearby facilities to provide support.
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Workday and Kronos is preferred.
