In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring our employment practices adhere to all federal, state, and local laws within the Californian operations. Your contributions will be critical in fostering a culture of integrity and transparency as you coordinate compliance initiatives, conduct audits, and support policy development. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in California HR with a focus on compliance and auditing.
  • In-depth knowledge of California state and federal employment laws.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Required regional travel up to 50% for store visits and meetings.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in union environments preferred.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor compliance with employment laws and regulations across California.
  • Conduct audits of HR files and onboarding documentation to ensure compliance.
  • Support the development and implementation of HR policies and compliance programs.
  • Maintain necessary employee records and reports per jurisdictional requirements.
  • Collaborate with HR and Legal teams on compliance inquiries and investigations.
  • Coordinate compliance training sessions for employees and managers.
  • Track legislative updates and communicate their impacts to leadership.
  • Assist in preparing government filings and reports as required.
