RBM Automotive Group is seeking an HR Clerk to support the Human Resources Manager and dealership operations. This position is based primarily in the Metro-Atlanta area, but occasional travel to out-of-state locations may be required. This is an “in-person” position (NOT REMOTE). Candidates should be able to commute daily to Atlanta-based locations. The ideal candidate will be highly organized and have prior experience working in the automotive industry with HRIS systems and CDK accounting software. The HR Clerk will play an integral role in ensuring the smooth operation of HR functions and ensuring compliance with company policies and legal regulations.

Requirements

  • Prior to being employed, applicants for employment must participate in RBM’s normal screening process which includes: completing a full employment application; satisfactory criminal, credit and driving records checks (where applicable); in-person interviews and other inquiries.
  • Authorized to work in the USA for any employer.
  • High school diploma or the equivalent is required. Associates degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field is preferred.
  • Prior experience in HR support, accounting, or administrative role is preferred.
  • Previous experience working with CDK and automotive double-entry general ledger accounting is preferred.
  • Previous experience working with Paycom is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Teams.
  • Excellent attention to detail to ensure accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact effectively with employees and management.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to address and resolve administrative challenges efficiently.
  • Physical activities include: remain stationary for long periods of time, operate office equipment, and repetitive motion.
  • Travel will be required on a rotating basis between headquarters located in Duluth, GA and Sandy Springs, GA. Occasional travel inside the Atlanta-Metro area and out-of-state to individual dealerships will be required.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update digital employee records and other HRIS components, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Scan and archive hard-copy employee records, accounting documents, payroll records, and other dealership records.
  • Perform recruitment and onboarding activities for new hires: create requisitions, coordinate with hiring managers, initiate onboarding and complete required HR hiring tasks.
  • Complete payroll activities on a rotating basis with HR Manager and Controllers: upload data sets, manually enter items, reconcile entries, resolve issues, and submit payroll in a timely manner.
  • Manage monthly benefit premium reconciliation, validation, GL posting, and payments.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies, procedures, and programs; escalate inquires as needed and proactively keep management informed of issues.
  • Support HR Manager across all HR functions: employee terminations, month-end accounting activities, annual open enrollment, etc.
  • Ensure compliance with Dealership policies, labor laws and Federal/State/local regulations by staying updated on HR best practices, participating in ongoing education, and collaborating with the HR Manger.
  • Prioritize work to meet deadlines and ensure critical tasks are completed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
