About The Position

The HR Business Partner is responsible for supervising Human Resources associates and managing HR programs and policies within a plant at Altec Operations. This role serves as a key point of contact for HR-related matters, ensuring compliance with employment regulations and overseeing various HR functions such as staffing, compensation, benefits, and associate relations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Five years of Altec Human Resources experience or five years of external HR experience with two years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • PHR Certification preferred.
  • Excellent computer skills required, preferably with Microsoft Office, PeopleSoft, Oracle, and/or Kronos.

Responsibilities

  • Directly supervise Human Resources associates and programs.
  • Advise managers and associates on employment regulations and HR procedures.
  • Supervise HR Representatives and Administrative Support Associates.
  • Conduct exit interviews and manage employment termination paperwork.
  • Assist in preparing and maintaining HR records.
  • Serve as a technical liaison between business, industry, and government.
  • Implement and evaluate HR programs, including performance and affirmative action.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state laws and reporting requirements.
  • Conduct surveys and focus groups to gather job and organizational information.
  • Schedule and conduct new associate orientations.
  • Develop training curricula and conduct training sessions.
  • Research and implement effective recruiting methods for job candidates.
  • Provide input for resolving associate relations issues and investigations.
  • Research and recommend modifications to associate benefits and safety practices.
  • Represent the company at conferences and events.
  • Conduct internal investigations of compliance issues and audits.
  • Participate in unemployment hearings with state government and third-party administrators.
  • Act as a confidential point of contact for associates.
