About The Position

Regional HR Business Partners are responsible for overseeing the human resources operations of Rack Rooms stores in a certain region or regions. They are the first line HR and Benefits support to management and employees in that region. They commonly work with senior-level managers to develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and initiatives that support the success of each region.

Requirements

  • Preferred minimum of five years of progressive responsibility in human resources and/or benefits.
  • Experience resolving employee relations issues and handling the entire lifecycle of employment.
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, benefits management, organizational diagnosis, employee relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws.
  • Experience and knowledge in state employment laws specifically in immediate pay states such as California, Nevada, etc.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • HRCI or SHRM Certifications preferred.
  • Retail experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Tier 1 support on benefits, HR, compliance, policy - anything HR or benefits related. Have good understanding when to elevate to 'Tier 2' support.
  • Partner with RMs, DMs and SMs to provide guidance for the recruitment process for open positions within the company.
  • May also be involved in recruiting at the corporate level, which may include screening applicants, scheduling interviews and providing onboarding support.
  • Provide coaching, guidance and support to managers and supervisors on workplace policies and procedures.
  • Review employee performance to determine if any action should be taken, such as providing counseling or terminating employment.
  • Provide HR support to managers in case of any issues related to employee relations or human resources, such as conducting investigations into employee complaints or claims of discrimination or harassment.
  • Ensuring compliance with government regulations that apply to hiring practices, including background checks.
  • Participating in strategic planning sessions to help identify opportunities for improvement within the organization's HR department or with current or new policies.
  • Communicate company benefits packages and administering life events, annual enrollments, and benefit plans such as health insurance or 401(k)s.
  • Project work as needed around updating systems, vendors, etc. in the HR Lifecycle for employees.
  • Partnering with the Payroll department regarding employee inquiries and assisting with resolutions.
