About The Position

As a HR Benefits & Leave Specialist you will be responsible for administering the employee benefit plans and 401(k) retirement program and ensures understanding and service level details regarding all benefit maters. Additionally responsible for leave management for the agency. Work closely with department leadership, employees, and vendors to ensure accurate and compliant administration of benefits, FMLA and other leave programs, while maintaining current and precise data within the HRIS, including benefits, payroll deductions, and related records.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field.
  • Minimum of fives years of HR experience which included specific experience with benefit design and administrative and leave management.
  • Acceptable driving record and auto insurance to meet the travel requirements
  • Ability to work flexible hours daily/weekly to fulfill position responsibilities

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with ADP Workforce Now preferred
  • SHRM-CP or PHR preferred

Responsibilities

  • Meet with insurance brokers and CHRO to coordinate the best benefit plans for the agency.
  • Coordinate and conduct open enrollment each year.
  • Clearly communicate all SAFY benefits to all staff. Aid in educating staff on all available options.
  • Manage Unemployment and Workers Compensation required records needed for administrative reviews/hearings. May be required to attend administrative reviews/hearings as necessary.
  • Manage leave of absences for all staff agency wide. Assure appropriate communication with all necessary parties and ensure required paperwork is received.
  • Develop and update FMLA policies, procedures, and related documents to ensure alignment with current laws and best practices
  • Administer all aspects of ADA accommodations
  • Assist with engagement surveys and action planning to drive organizational-wide engagement.
  • Assist in the annual review and update of our Employee Handbook.

  • Compensation is commensurate with transferable experience, education and licensure of candidate, location of the position, along with internal equity and budgeted amount for the role.
