About The Position

Jobs in this career family provide the management of human capital. Reporting to the Assistant Vice Chancellor for External Relations and Operations this position will assist the HR Business Partner and Program Coordinator and act as a key resource in HR and training for CU Anschutz Advancement. The HR Associate will regularly provide guidance and counsel on budget, human resources, and staff training for the Vice Chancellor of Advancement and their executive team.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, operations, organizational leadership, higher education administration, social sciences, behavioral sciences or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
  • A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis.
  • Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
  • Ability to analyze, interpret, and evaluate a broad range of laws, rules, and regulations in order to exercise good judgment in applying them to human resource challenges.
  • Knowledge of the professional standards, concepts, and practices of recruitment and selection, employee relations, or organizational development and human resource policy.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally, including public speaking.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
  • Demonstrated commitment and leadership ability to advancing policies, programs and practices that address social injustices and health disparities.
  • Thorough knowledge of current management and leadership methods and best practices.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality while working with sensitive information.
  • Attention to detail when dealing with complex processes.

  • Experience with recruitment, job evaluations, and candidate sourcing.

Responsibilities

  • Support the recruitment process by coordinating interviews, managing candidate communications, and assisting with onboarding new hires.
  • Prepare resumes and data sheet for Search Committee for candidate selection.
  • Reserve time on panel calendars and interview rooms.
  • Work with candidates to schedule interviews, greet candidates at arrival, follow up with candidates and provide post-interview updates.
  • Assist HR BP to create staff letters of offer, initiate background checks, process salary approvals, and complete HCM hiring process.
  • Assist with streamlining training opportunities.
  • Act as a point of contact for employee inquiries, providing timely and accurate information, and escalating issues to the HR Business Partner as needed.
  • Maintain employee records, prepare HR documents, and ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Assist the HR BP in organizing and executing HR programs and initiatives, such as training sessions, employee engagement activities, and performance management processes.
  • Utilize Human Capital Management (HCM) to complete various HR tasks.
  • Utilize Smartsheet to track various HR processes.
  • Assist with team retreat agendas and logistics, as needed.
  • Provide Human Resources guidance to various divisions.
  • Serve as a backup to the HR Business Partner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
