The HR Assistant for Learning and Organizational Development at Washington State University (WSU) plays a crucial role in supporting the Learning & Organizational Development (LOD) team by coordinating and implementing learning resources. This position serves as the initial point of contact for inquiries related to LOD, assisting in the creation and maintenance of training initiatives, and fostering a positive learning culture within the university. The role involves administrative support, scheduling, and collaboration with HR professionals to enhance employee development and satisfaction.

  • Provide administrative support for leadership development programs and executive coaching program.
  • Research, develop, and maintain resource lists, including rooms, vendors, and presenters.
  • Create, maintain, and update LOD presentations and materials, including voiceover programming.
  • Update and maintain LOD webpage content.
  • Create content for social media to promote LOD opportunities.
  • Coordinate virtual and in-person training logistics.
  • Maintain accurate records and correspondence for all LOD programs.
  • Ensure compliance with human resources policies and guidelines.
  • HRCA 1: Three years of office experience OR related setting OR equivalent education/ experience.
  • HRCA 2: Four years of office experience, including two years of experience in learning and development, training, or organizational development OR related setting; OR equivalent education/ experience.
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
  • Working knowledge and experience with Microsoft office programs including Word, Excel, Outlook, or any database programs.
  • Demonstrated experience providing customer service in person, over the phone and/or electronically.
  • Ability to identify potential solutions and adapt to changing needs in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, while efficiently handling frequent interruptions.
  • Experience in the human resource functions of learning & organizational development, benefits, recruitment, classification, compensation, and/or employee/labor relations.
  • Experience presenting group orientations and/or trainings.
  • Ability to contribute creative/innovative ideas that align with organizational goals and initiatives.
  • Experience with social media and updating content for websites.
  • Work experience with learning management systems.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy and quality in tasks.
