About The Position

We are seeking an experienced HR professional to serve as a strategic bridge between the Human Resources and Accounting departments, with a focus on payroll integration and process alignment. While this position will sit within the accounting team, the individual will leverage their HR expertise to strengthen collaboration, ensure compliance, and improve efficiency between the two functions.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience with strong knowledge of payroll practices.
  • Prior exposure to payroll systems and accounting processes; direct payroll processing experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of labor laws, compliance, and HR operations.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and process improvement skills.
  • Proven ability to write and implement SOPs and policies.
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills to work effectively across departments.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary liaison between HR and Accounting to align policies, processes, and communication.
  • Act as backup payroll processor, ensuring accurate and timely payroll execution when needed.
  • Evaluate, document, and streamline processes across HR and Accounting, creating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to drive consistency and efficiency.
  • Partner with both departments to identify gaps, improve workflows, and implement best practices.
  • Support compliance with federal, state, and local labor and payroll regulations.
  • Analyze HR and payroll data to provide insights and recommendations to leadership.
  • Function as a business partner between HR and Accounting, fostering stronger cross-departmental collaboration.
