G&A Partners' client is currently seeking a HR and Office Manager to join its team in Houston, TX. The Human Resources & Office Manager is responsible for overseeing all human resources ("HR") and office administration functions (as well as supporting a positive workplace environment) to ensure smooth daily operations and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities prioritize business-critical functions, compliance and employee experience to positively impact workforce stability, regulatory compliance, employee satisfaction and overall business efficiency.

Requirements

  • Experience in both human resources and office management, preferably in a small-to-medium size industrial and/or distribution business(es)
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills to balance HR work and general office oversight
  • Excellent communication, discretion with sensitive information and proficiency in human resource information system ("HRIS"), payroll and office software
  • Problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a leadership team
  • Knowledge of employment laws, HR best practices and safety compliance relevant to industrial workplaces
  • Conversational ability to speak both English and Spanish

Responsibilities

  • Oversee recruitment, hiring, onboarding and offboarding to ensure the company has qualified employees and smooth personnel transitions
  • Administer payroll, employee benefit programs, bonus programs and time-off requests, ensuring timely compensation and regulatory compliance
  • Maintain employee records, handle confidential information and ensure data and personnel files are accurate and secure, supporting both operational needs and legal requirements
  • Develop, implement and administer HR policies and ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT and other employment safety regulations
  • Develop, implement and administer company policies and procedures as well as providing any required policy interpretation for employees
  • Coordinate compliance programs, safety training and new-hire orientations in collaboration with company management
  • Ensure legal compliance with local, state and federal HR and employment regulations
  • Manage and maintain records for all non-DOT regulated company-owned vehicles
  • Manage office supplies, facilities, vendor relationships and general administration, ensuring the business runs efficiently and the team is well-supported
  • Advise on employee relations and mediate conflicts, fostering a positive work environment and supporting company culture
  • Lead initiatives to sustain a positive company culture, conduct regular check-ins and support employee engagement
  • Support company management by spearheading identified special projects and new initiatives as a "change agent"
