As a member of the Ambulatory Care Division, the Administrative Officer 3 serves as the department's liaison to Human Resources Departments (Employee & Labor Relations, Recruitment, Compensation, Disability Management Services, Benefits, Leave of Absence) as well as the to the Practice Managers, supervisors, and staff on a wide array of staffing matters. The position exercises initiative and sound judgment to identify potential issues of concern and will follow-up on solutions to achieve desired outcomes while partnering with management and staff to maximize departmental personnel processes between the division and Human Resources. This position reports a solid line to the Associate Chief Nursing Executive. Ambulatory Operations has a full complement of facilities and services which includes 40 hospital-based clinics and 25 medical practices located across the greater Sacramento region. The division oversees complex care delivery in infusion centers, gastroenterology procedure labs, imaging centers, and neuroscience and sleep labs. Ambulatory also offers a vast array of virtual care through office based primary care and specialty telehealth video visits, eConsults. and extended hours telehealth express care.

  • Bachelor's degree, or related field and/or equivalent education, experience and training.
  • Solid experience in supervisory or leadership skills to advise managers how to manage their staff.
  • Experience and skills in recruiting, selecting, training, and employee retention.
  • Solid persuasion, listening, and conflict management skills.
  • Demonstrated experience partnering and providing consultation to leadership, employees, and HR partners or HR related issues.
  • Strong presentation and training skills.
  • Exceptional analytical, administrative, and interpersonal problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge in human resources practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of state and federal labor and employment laws and regulations.
  • PHR or SPHR Certification
  • Experience working in a health care institution or similar complex organization/industry
  • Experience in writing, translating, and implementing policies.
