About The Position

The HR Analyst is responsible for data management, system maintenance, auditing the integrity of the data, ensuring record retention, and being the gatekeeper for all HR employee system transactions, as well as entering accurate/consistent data in the HR systems with precise documentation that supports all changes to optimize NYRA's record-keeping practices. Duties include but are not limited to HR policy interpretation, employee relations, records retention, oversight of accurate and consistent data entry, help with new employee orientation, and development/facilitation of employee training sessions as needed.

Requirements

  • College degree or 3 years of progressive experience as a Human Resource professional.
  • Demonstrated experience managing highly confidential information, a positive attitude, initiative, and business acumen.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with and influence a diverse customer base, strong problem-solving skills, an ability to present a professional image, and excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Strong computer literacy, including Excel and HRIS databases.

Responsibilities

  • Processes, enters and maintains daily updates to all Human Resources systems, including hiring new employees, rehiring them, entering leave administration, processing employee status changes, assigning benefit groups, supporting organizational changes, and managing separation changes.
  • Partners with the HR teams to ensure accuracy and timely submission of employee transactions.
  • Works with the HRIS Analyst and HR teams to enhance employee data collection and management processes, ensuring historical and current data accuracy while confirming that essential data needs are fulfilled.
  • Quality checks, manipulates, and merges data in preparation for key stakeholder reporting, analyses, and vendor payments for numerous services.
  • Audits, maintains and generates reports of nonunion/union databases to monitor benefit programs, secure vendor compliance, validate those systems properly capture appropriate data fields, and ensure they reflect accurate employee roster changes monthly to minimize financial risk to NYRA.
  • Completes standard / Ad Hoc reports and audit requests.
  • Audit, maintain, and generate reports of nonunion/union databases/portals to monitor benefit programs, guarantee vendor compliance, validate that systems adequately capture the required data, and ensure they reflect accurate employee roster changes monthly to minimize financial risk to NYRA.
  • Assist on an as-needed basis with HR-related activities at all phases of the employee life cycle, including onboarding, performance management, status changes, and terminations.
  • Coordinate HR data processing with appropriate support staff.
  • Ensure that personnel records comply with company, State, and Federal guidelines.
  • Participate as needed in monthly/quarterly and annual audits of personnel records.
  • Participate in special projects as requested or desired; help clarify project objectives; set timetables and schedules; conduct research; develop and organize information; fulfill transactions.
  • In the absence of Payroll Analyst(s), backup by sorting the weekly payroll checks and distributing them to appropriate locations and departments.
