About The Position

The HR Adviser (Fixed-Term) role at Rio Tinto Borates involves providing operational support to the Human Resources function at the Boron mine in California. This position is designed for a people-driven individual who will oversee daily HR functions, manage projects, and collaborate with a diverse team. Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field and/or equivalent experience working in HR.
  • Three or more years of relevant HR experience including a minimum of two years of employee relations experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively apply knowledge of human resource laws and policies and communicate with stakeholders.
  • Extensive experience with MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with SAP is beneficial.
  • Skills in prioritization, planning, multi-tasking, and time management.

Nice To Haves

  • A PHR/SPHR certification or equivalent is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide coaching and support to leaders and employees on HR systems, processes, policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Process appropriate status changes such as new hires, salary information, and updates to personnel files.
  • Partner with and support leaders and colleagues with activities to achieve objectives.
  • Provide employee relations support and work with bargaining units in a professional and confidential manner.
  • Support Change Management, Performance Management, Group HR Initiatives, and Conflict Management.
  • Assist offshore recruiting teams and hiring leaders with the implementation and improvement of the new talent acquisition process.
