About The Position

BAE Systems, a top-ten prime contractor to the U.S. Department of Defense, designs and delivers advanced defense, intelligence, and security solutions that support the important missions of our customers. We are seeking an HPC Storage Systems Administrator to provide system administration and support of a large client-server based IT enterprise. In this position you will provide installation, configuration and networking of Unix and NT based platforms. This will include: creating, modifying and deleting user accounts performing system back-ups and maintaining system configuration files installation and configuration of hardware, operating systems, and commercial software packages developing and implementing enterprise backup/recovery strategies, server configuration and consolidation, and verification of the health and status of the entire IT infrastructure. Support for enterprise services such as DNS, NFS, e-mail services, security protection mechanisms, and the interoperability of UNIX and NT based systems.

Requirements

• TS/SCI clearance with appropriate poly.
• Must be willing to work on site 100% of the time.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Ten (10) years of demonstrable experience in system administration and support of a large client-server based IT enterprise, or five (5) years of full time computer science work that can be substituted for the Bachelor's Degree.
• Fundamental understanding of operating systems and familiarity with either UNIX or NT commands or utilities at the user level.
• Experience in installation, configuration, and networking of UNIX and/or NT based platforms.
• Experience with creating, modifying and deleting user accounts, performing system back-ups, and maintaining system configuration files.
• Ability to develop and implement enterprise backup/recovery strategies.

Nice To Haves

• SGI IRIX based operating system experience.
• Experience with SGI systems with direct attached and FC SAN attached storage.
• Experience with Network Appliance clustered servers with direct attached and FC SAN storage.
• Familiarity with multivendor clustered filesystems such as GPFS, Lustre.
• Experience with Brocade FC switch network.
• Knowledge of enterprise class arrays and Solid State Disk (SSD).
• Experience with NFS/CIFS based server/storage appliance.
• Familiarity with HPSE Data Domain and similar deduplication products.
• Experience with cloud based storage solutions such as HADOOP and IBM BigInsights.
• Trouble ticket management utilizing Remedy.
• IAT Level II Certification.
