As an HPC Storage Engineer, you will architect the data backbone that powers our most ambitious innovations. You will join a high-impact team dedicated to engineering and managing large-scale, multi-datacenter storage and interconnect infrastructure. From optimizing parallel filesystems to fine-tuning low-latency networking, your work will directly enable our internal customers to solve complex problems at scale. We are looking for a technical leader who is passionate about building high-performance solutions and ensuring our environment operates at its peak potential.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of Linux administration experience
  • 2+ years of storage engineering experience
  • Strong storage and server infrastructure knowledge
  • Strong architectural and engineering experience with enterprise Linux environments
  • Strong scripting experience with Python and Bash, and willingness to learn other languages.
  • Performs at an extremely high level of technical competence and maturity
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to utilize desktop tools to accelerate communications (Grafana, mkdocs, wikis, IM, MS Teams, etc.)
  • Seeks out improvements to processes and business offerings
  • Ability to create detailed technical documentation
  • Ability to handle multiple complex projects at one time

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using parallel filesystems (GPFS, Lustre, Vast, Weka, etc.)
  • Exposure to HPC interconnect technologies like InfiniBand or MPI
  • Familiarity with batch workload managers
  • Experience using SRE practices and Jira/Agile
  • Experience managing Red Hat Enterprise Linux

Responsibilities

  • Actively design, implement and support HPC storage, networking, and related infrastructure
  • Assist application teams with optimizing workflows for the environment
  • Develop and support automation and scripts (Python, bash, Ansible)
  • Monitor and troubleshoot system failures (participate in a regular on call schedule)
