This is an entry level position where the employee will be in training, learning and working to become a licensed water professional in the state of Texas. Assists with the operations, maintenance and housekeeping of assigned wastewater treatment plants. Takes and records equipment readings. Collects samples and completes Chain of Custody forms for proper TCEQ laboratory testing and recording. Assists with adjusting return rates and daily wasting at assigned plants. May assist with sludge processing by running a Belt Filter Press or Centrifuge. Oversees and works with other supporting groups to coordinate activities that affect plant operations. Oversees the operation of one or more wastewater treatment facilities. Generates work orders and expedites the scheduling of equipment maintenance, tools, and vehicles. Knowledgeable in the use of SCADA system to monitor and interpret mechanical and chemical processes at the facilities. Inspects and tests working conditions on all equipment. Compares readings on equipment and processes with established operational ranges to evaluate system performance. Initiates system changes within established guidelines to affect process control. Frequently performs simple chemical analysis to ensure proper chemical balances. Collects, analyzes and monitors data relevant to maintaining efficient water treatment operations. Communicates and coordinates work with other operators and support personnel by radio, telephone and e-mail.
