About The Position

Housing Stabilization Specialists assist individuals with disabilities to obtain stable and affordable housing. This role involves meeting with clients, assessing barriers to housing, and helping clients develop skills to maintain their housing. The position emphasizes community engagement and resource identification to support clients effectively.

Requirements

• Experience working with individuals with disabilities.
• Strong communication skills for client interaction and external resource coordination.
• Ability to assess client needs and barriers to housing.
• Skills in documentation and reporting client progress.

• Experience in social work or a related field.
• Knowledge of community resources for housing assistance.
• Familiarity with mental health services.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients in community settings and virtually.
• Visit and tour potential properties with clients.
• Communicate with external resources regarding funding and access.
• Identify and encourage client strengths regarding maintaining housing.
• Identify client weaknesses regarding maintaining housing and help clients develop skills to overcome them.
• Document individual client progress and communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
