About The Position

The Temporary Housing Specialist I will determine eligibility and continued participation for HOC Housing Choice Voucher applicants and families. We are hiring two positions for the Housing Specialist I in the Housing Resources Division.

Requirements

• At least one (1) year of experience in affordable housing or customer service
• Requires Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, Public Administration, Government or related field
• Must obtain program certification within six (6) months of hire
• Knowledge of or the ability to acquire knowledge of subsidized housing program guidelines and federal, state and local landlord-tenant laws
• Strong communication skills and good customer service
• Experience in the Housing Choice Voucher, Tax Credit or other subsidized program is a plus
• Proficient with Microsoft Office
