About The Position

Under general supervision this position is responsible for making a wide range of typical house and modular home repairs. This list is intended only to illustrate the various types of work that may be performed. Requirements

  • Graduation from high school or GED to be earned by a date determined by the Tribe.
  • 5 years' experience in home building or general construction, including five years' experience working in trades including general plumbing, carpentry or electrical.
  • Valid Washington State Driver's License.

Responsibilities

  • Receives written work orders or verbal instructions from supervisor and schedules weekly home repair work with priority based on health and safety.
  • Conducts general building inspections, and inspects work requested.
  • Prepares cost assessment including time and materials to complete necessary repair.
  • Assists in preparation of work scope and assists in obtaining and reviewing bids for work that requires special skills.
  • Supervises work of sub-contractors.
  • Responds to home owners' questions; assists with problems, complaints and service concerns.
  • Performs a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks such as pruning, yard maintenance, plumbing, carpentry, and electrical work.
  • Installs, replaces or adjusts filters, light bulbs, ribbons, belts and similar objects.
  • Patches and repairs roofs, walls and flooring, and applies weatherization materials.
  • Drives truck and maintains a wide variety of hand and power tools and other supplies on board.
  • Cleans equipment using appropriate materials and ensures all tools are in good operating order.
  • Operates power driven machinery and/or equipment.
  • Uses computer to prepare statistical and narrative reports on repair work scheduled and completed.
  • Develops applications, work scopes, work cost estimates, schedules, and supply orders.
  • Assists the Maintenance Supervisor in the development of a home owner education program for the proper maintenance and care of homes.
  • Uses safety work practices.
