JOB DESCRIPTION: HOUSING PROGRAM SPECIALIST Classification: Full-Time; Hourly; Non-Exempt; Pay Grade: E Location: SEICAA’s Service Area (Based in Pocatello, Idaho) Benefits: Health/Vision/Dental; Life Insurance; Short Term Disability; Simple IRA Reports To: Housing Director Summary of Work Assist with all functions of SEICAA’s Housing (HSG) division Overview of Responsibilities • Act as a point of contact for SEICAA’s HSG division; Share information regarding SEICAA programs and services and other community resources with tenants and participants; Collect payments, record/track payments, and provide receipts. • Enforce leases, rules, and policies; Address and escalate notices of concern as needed. • Assist with maintaining tenant/participant records, including but not limited to qualifications and certifications; Assist HSG staff with move-in/move-out processes and inspections. • Generate and distribute memos and letters as needed; handle and distribute incoming and outgoing mail daily. • Clerical duties (data entry, inventory, and recordkeeping, etc.); Update and distribute monthly calendars. • Professionally maintain contact with staff, participants, and partners; Coordinate with Facilities staff as needed. • Perform other duties as assigned such as answering and directing calls.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Rental Housing experience preferred.
  • Experience working with vulnerable populations preferred.
  • Knowledge of case management or willingness to learn it.
  • Knowledge of HUD, Fair Housing requirements, HOME and COC policies and guidelines or willingness to learn them.
  • Knowledge of HMIS, EIV, HAP, and TRACS reporting and applicable software systems or willingness to learn them.
  • Knowledge of administrative, clerical, and office practices.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
  • Computer skills; Familiarity with typical office technologies.
  • Clerical skills (filing, recordkeeping, data entry, compliance, etc.).
  • Effective oral and written communication skills; the ability to communicate clearly; Ability to disseminate health and safety information through training presentations.
  • Organized, attention to detail, and punctual.
  • Self-directed; Can work independently and in a team; Can establish working relationships with Agency employees, the public, and partners; Follows instructions; Follows policies and procedures; Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects with effective time management skills.
  • Ability to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodations without endangering self or others.
  • Bondable, insurable under SEICAA’s insurance policy, and maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Able to attend meetings or training opportunities to enhance expertise and performance as scheduled.
  • Willing to travel on Agency business at Agency reimbursement rates.
  • Able to occasionally lift up to 35 lbs.
  • Must successfully pass mandatory pre-employment drug and background screening.
