About The Position

This position is responsible for accepting and processing residents staying in the shelter overnight, monitoring the activity of residents, and maintaining accurate and complete records.

Requirements

• High school diploma or G.E.D. AND one year experience performing security work or working in a social service environment, OR any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Ability to meet attendance requirements.
• Ability to read, write and communicate the English language.
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients in order to control, lead, and motivate behavior.

Responsibilities

• Checks clients into the shelter
• Prepares and monitors client intake cards
• Determines if client has been prepaid by sponsor or credit
• Prepares resident roster and maintains resident property records
• Ensures that all rooms are in proper order before and after arrival of residents
• Checks fire equipment and ensures proper working order
• Completes required paperwork representing client intake for the day
• Inputs data into the computer in order to maintain computer records and generate client lists
• Prepares, tallies, and balances monies with receipts
• Drops the money in the safe
