About The Position

The Office of Housing at The University of Tennessee at Martin is accepting applications for a Maintenance Supervisor. This position is responsible for supervising and making decisions on the day-to-day maintenance operations for all residential facilities, ensuring residents have a well-maintained, safe, and fully functional living environment. The position oversees multiple maintenance trade areas—including general building maintenance, painting, locks, and appliances—and provides guidance and technical expertise to staff across these disciplines. The incumbent manages personnel through training, performance evaluation, and recommendations for personnel actions. The role includes enforcing policies, safety regulations, and applicable codes; inspecting the quality of work in progress and upon completion; and ensuring work meets university standards. The position is also responsible for ordering materials, managing inventory, and providing guidance on the selection of tools, equipment, and supplies needed for projects. The position also maintains detailed records of time and materials for billing purposes and coordinates with external contractors on various campus projects to ensure timely completion and compliance with specifications.
