About The Position

The mission of Catholic Charities Twin Cities is to serve those most in need and to advocate for justice in the community. Our programs for children, families, and adults serve more than 25,000 people every year. As the need for our services grows, Catholic Charities is working to adapt and respond with strategies that prevent poverty, meet basic needs in times of crisis, and create pathways to greater stability. The Housing Eligibility & Property Manager will float between the Eligibility/Leasing and Property teams providing support as needed. This individual is responsible for providing a safe and well-maintained facility and completing all housing eligibility duties. Works closely with Resident Services to ensure vacancies are filled. Ensure that applications and residential processes are followed, and residential data is accurate.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field preferred
  • Minimum three (3) years of relevant experience in affordable housing, leasing, or related.
  • Experience with data management systems, property management software (YARDI), and Microsoft Office suite
  • Ability to work with diverse and/or low-income populations, including those who may be experiencing homelessness, unstable housing, and/or mental illness required.

Responsibilities

  • Develops a strong understanding of program funders, housing best practices, and Catholic Charities processes.
  • Develops and maintains an up-to-date knowledge of Tax Credit, HUD, and other necessary requirements to determine resident eligibility
  • Coordinates with case managers to schedule intake meetings for potential residents.
  • Assists potential residents with the application process by explaining all applicable forms. Ensures applications are accurate and complete.
  • Coordinates the receipt of all necessary documentation to determine program eligibility.
  • Coordinates with the Director of Leasing on compliance review and file approval.
  • Seeks guidance from supervisor when needed to ensure file accuracy and documentation compliance.
  • Facilitate move-in and lease signing with residents and case managers.
  • Creates and maintains resident files to include all required paperwork.
  • Completes recertifications as required by the program.
  • Enters client information into a variety of databases in accordance with the program requirements.
  • Creates and maintains positive working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure accurate reporting.
  • Conducts regular building and unit inspections.
  • Collects and processes rent, as well as accounts payables.
  • Prepares and delivers correspondence with residents, such as eviction notices, rent collections, leave violations, etc.
  • Responds to tenant needs in a timely manager, ensuring lease obligations are met to tenants’ satisfaction.
  • Participate in resolution of tenant/resident complaints or behavioral issues, as directed by supervisor and in conjunction with program staff.
