Housing Counselor
About The Position
OVERVIEW Drueding Center, located at 4th and Master Street in Philadelphia, partners with families experiencing homelessness to support them to build skills to heal from trauma, restore hope, and end the cycle of homelessness through a trauma informed and housing first approach. This work is accomplished through three interrelated departments - Residential Services, Community Services and Child Care. SUMMARY OF JOB SUMMARY OF JOB: In keeping with Drueding Center's core principles of healing from trauma, restoring hope and rapidly ending homelessness provide trauma informed housing counseling services to Resident and New Neighbors families. Serve as a liaison to landlords/property managers. CONNECTING TO MISSION: Drueding Center continues the legacy of the Sisters of the Redeemer and embodies the mission of Holy Redeemer Health System, to care, comfort, and heal by providing trauma informed services to the most vulnerable among us, families who are or have experienced homelessness.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in social work or related field required; with one-year experience in human services field preferred.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team.
- Knowledge and commitment to principles of social work.
- Driver's License required.
- Flexible hours to meet the families needs for appointments and occasional Saturdays.
- Able to be certified to perform HUD housing inspections.
