Requirements

  • Knowledge of affordable housing practices and HUD regulations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 and tech-savvy.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Good mathematical skills, including understanding of PEMDAS.
  • Patience and active listening skills for effective communication.
  • 6 months to 1 year of experience in affordable housing or a related field.
  • Some college coursework is preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Candidates with a CPO (Certified Occupancy Professional) or COS (Certified Occupancy Specialist) certification are encouraged to apply.
  • 1 year of case management experience (Preferred).
  • 1 year of housing experience (Preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Calculate tenant rent payments and housing assistance payments; process interim and annual re-certifications as required.
  • Screen applicants for eligibility by reviewing confidential verifications and documentation.
  • Provide professional communication by answering incoming phone calls and addressing inquiries from clients and applicants.
  • Maintain day-to-day activities involving tenant ledger issues, subcontractors, vendors, and property management tasks.
  • Enter property information accurately into OneSite property management software.
  • Interview residents regarding family income, composition, and compliance with HUD guidelines to determine eligibility.
  • Process, calculate, and verify program participant eligibility according to HUD rules and regulations.
  • Handle confidential applicant information with the utmost ethical standards.

Benefits

  • Pay: $18.00 per hour
  • Full-time schedule with 8-hour shifts
