Job Summary: The Housing Coordinator reports to the Residence Life & Housing Assistant Director in coordination with the Residence Life & Housing Director with the primary duties of supervising the designated residence hall’s daily functions of residential life and compiling accurate reporting information. The Housing Coordinator is on-call for crisis/emergency situations, and acts as a resource for Residence Life & Housing and builds effective, strong working relationships to enhance department operations and functions. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: 12-month position that resides on campus Assume responsibility for the operation of the assigned residence hall Assist in building security Assist in staff selection and training of new employees within the Residence Hall Supervise student workers as well as schedule floor and desk hours Evaluates performance of employees and recommends any personnel actions to Assistant Director or Director Complete all required reports in a timely and accurate manner Gain expertise and remain current in knowledge of appropriate programs Embrace recruitment and retention efforts of the department and university, and support enrollment strategies Participate as a member of the Council of Housing Coordinators Maintain budget for Hall’s Activity Funds Specific assignments are based on unit need and assigned by the supervisor which could include such things as assisting in building security, conduct regular inspections of the residence hall to ensure the maintenance of the facility and report deficiencies, direct programming activities, and enforce rules and regulations Competencies: Ability to multi-task, organized, manages time effectively, and keeps tasks appropriately prioritized Must display positive attitude, problem solving skills, and the ability to complete projects in a timely manner while maintaining professionalism and leadership Position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact, and diplomacy Remains knowledgeable about applicable regulations, policies, and protocols Maintain a high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential student life situations Ability to work with, assist, lead, and take directions from others in the interest of moving processes and programs forward to the desired outcome Work Setting: Expectation of on-campus presence with attendance and punctuality Rotating On Call schedule Promote personal safety, safety procedures, and a safe work environment Employment at will Full-time status Annual base salary of $43,888 12-month appointment Exempt About SWOSU: With locations in Weatherford, Yukon, Sayre, and online degree programs, SWOSU is one of the leading regional universities in the country.
