About The Position

The Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Specialist at the Franklin County Regional Housing and Redevelopment Authority (HRA) plays a crucial role in administering subsidized rental housing programs. This position involves direct interaction with tenants and landlords, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations while providing support and guidance throughout the rental assistance process.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license and/or access to reliable transportation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word and Excel.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and set work priorities.
• Clear and consistent communication skills, both orally and in writing.
• Knowledge of standard office equipment and ability to perform moderate arithmetic computations.

Nice To Haves

• Spanish language skills.
• American Sign Language skills.

Responsibilities

• Administer federally issued Housing Choice Vouchers and/or state-issued MRVP vouchers in compliance with regulations and HRA's policies.
• Become familiar with laws, regulations, policies, and procedures related to rental assistance programs.
• Conduct tenant intake and outreach, including answering inquiries and assisting with applications.
• Communicate with landlords about program details, including security deposit policies and procedures for claims.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support program functions.
