About The Position

The Housing Summer Assistant is a paraprofessional staff member within the Office of Housing and Residence Life. This position works to prepare residential buildings for occupancy prior to the start of the fall academic year.

Requirements

  • Candidates must demonstrate the ability to role model and promote the University’s mission and vision.
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be able to walk up and down multiple flights of stairs and remain on their feet for extended periods of time.
  • This position is a 3-month position, running from May to August with dates that are negotiable.
  • Up to 40 hours per week
  • Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
  • Resume/Class Schedule

Responsibilities

  • Prepare residential buildings for occupancy prior to the start of the academic year.
  • Complete Room Condition Reports (RCRs).
  • Ensure rooms contain the correct furniture and are properly set up.
  • Verify that all rooms have functioning keys.
  • Work within closed residence halls across campus.
  • Maintain a professional presence while working in student residential spaces.
  • Other duties as assigned.
