The Housing and Community Vitality Director leads the evolution of a department designed to deliver more cohesive, inclusive, and effective services. The programs and services of the Social Sustainability and Neighborhood Services teams will likely form the core of this department, and as the Housing and Community Vitality department evolves, the Director further aligns the teams and develops the department within the context of the larger evolution across the Sustainability Services service area. The Housing and Community Vitality Director provides leadership and direction on policies, programs, funding, and issues related to housing, affordable housing, human services, community partnerships, affordability programs, and related matters as directed by the City Council, City Manager, or Chief Sustainability Officer.
