About The Position

Requirements

• Previous experience as a floor care technician or in related role preferred.
• Proven knowledge of floor care equipment and techniques required.
• Must be able to follow safety procedures and precautions due to physical risks.
• Requires frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling of up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions in English and communicate effectively, previous floor maintenance experience preferred but not required.
• High school diploma, GED, or suitable equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow cleaning schedule (daily, weekly, monthly, etc.) as outlined for the ESS Department.
• Clean assigned areas, furnishings, and fixtures according to established procedures.
• Clean floors: Dry mop, wet mop, sweep, disinfect where and when necessary. Vacuum carpeting/rugs and spot clean. Shampoo carpets as assigned.
• Refinish floors: strip, seal, put on finish and spray buff floors.
• Knowledge of housekeeping equipment (rotary floor buffer and carpet cleaner, extractor, pressure cleaner). Ability to do minor repairs on vacuum cleaners and floor and carpet equipment.
• Move and clean furnishings and fixtures, including but not limited to dusting, spot cleaning, and washing. Disinfect when necessary and polish when required.
• Clean offices, dining rooms, break rooms, laundry rooms, resident rooms, resident apartments, storage rooms, halls, stairways, entrances and exits.
• Empty, clean, and reline wastebaskets.
• Perform cleaning duties in isolation units.
• Perform emergency housekeeping when accidents occur, including but not limited to bodily fluid clean up.
• Straighten or rearrange furniture as directed.
• Remove for cleaning and re-hang when clean, curtains, drapes, or dividers.
