About The Position

As a Houseperson, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and general appearance of public areas and corridors of the hotel. This position will require flexible scheduling availability and weekends are a must.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit or walk for an extended period of time. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
The number of hours you will be scheduled to work during the week is variable and is based on guest occupancy, season, staffing and other factors. Island Hospitality is unable to guarantee a specific number of work hours per week.

Responsibilities

Upkeep the public areas
Assisting with Housekeeping as much as needed by providing basic housekeeping duties (changing the sheets, changing and arranging towels, restocking toilet supplies, vacuuming, dusting, cleaning, and rearranging the room after guest check out)
Ongoing involvement in preventative maintenance programs
Recognize and report potential safety hazards (broken doors or railings, fire hazards, etc.) and notify supervisors of any damages, deficits, and disturbances
Maintaining shelf organization in the storerooms and replenishing supplies as needed
Cleaning furniture, elevators, glass, planters, light fixtures, carpets, walls, and more in public areas such as the lobby, pool, and public restrooms
Delivering special request items such as cribs to guest rooms
Emptying all garbage on property, inside and outside.
