SUMMARY: The Houseperson is a team-player with strong attention to detail, efficiency in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to maintaining the highest level of cleanliness. plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and overall appearance of the hotel. This position supports the housekeeping team by ensuring public areas, back-of-house spaces, and guest rooms are well-stocked, clean, and presentable. The Houseperson assists room attendants with linen delivery, trash removal, and other tasks to ensure efficient operations and exceptional guest experiences. By delivering impeccable service, the Steward will uphold La Bahia Hotel & Spa’s service standards (inspired by Forbes) while elevating our beachfront property.

Requirements

  • (2) years of experience.
  • Endurance to stand for long periods and walk moderate distances.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills and customer service skills.
  • Capability to lift, push, and pull a moderate amount of weight (Up to 50lbs).
  • Flexible to work in different shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Highly organized with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Cleans assigned areas such as guest hallways, linen rooms, service areas.
  • Cleans window sills, walls and ice machine areas.
  • Makes complete rounds of these assigned areas to ensure they are appropriately maintained.
  • Maintains an assigned section of guest rooms.
  • Strips linens from beds, removes linens and terry from the rooms as well as garbage.
  • Maintains guest room balconies; wiping railings and removing detritus.
  • Vacuums guest rooms, guest corridors and public areas.
  • Transports both clean and dirty linens to and from the floors, linen room, storage and laundry areas and the laundry and Room Attendant carts.
  • Maintains public areas in a clean and orderly manner.
  • Maintain cart organized and in good condition.
  • Complete any, and all, special projects set up by the Director of Housekeeping.
  • Assists in the laundry room as required; transports laundry carts, runs loads of terry, puts the loads in the dryer and folds terry.
  • Delivers clean terry to the Spa or other areas of the hotel as requested.
  • Reports deficiencies beyond their immediate control to the Housekeeping Supervisor and/or Housekeeping Director for prompt resolution.
  • May be required to remove in room dining trays and return them to Room Service.
  • Observes all safety protocols and holds others accountable to hotel and departmental safety standards and procedures.
  • Wears personal protective equipment and gear when needed.
  • Assists with the maintenance of PAR’s; reports linen loss and damage, assists with inventory, and ensures areas are appropriately stocked to PAR levels.
  • Work carefully and follow safety rules.
  • Perform all other duties that may be assigned as needed by your manager.
