About The Position

SUMMARY: Responsible for the maintenance of all hotel linens and for expediting the room cleaning process by stripping linens, removing glasses and dishes for washing, sorting laundry in laundry, and picking up linens. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Interacts effectively with the public and people. Performs excellent guest service at all time. Stores folded clean linens, towels and sheets in appropriate areas. Helps expedite room preparation for next guest by stripping linens and placing them outside guest room for pickup. Picks up linens outside dirty rooms, puts in laundry cart, and takes to laundry room.. Removes room glasses and cups for washing to dishwashing area and returns them clean to the rooms. Adjusts and performs minor repairs to cleaning equipment. Sorts laundry in laundry room. Provides extra towels, sheets, pillows and /or rollaway to guest room upon the request of the front desk. Notifies managers concerning the need for major repairs. Maintains a consistent, regular attendance record. Performs any reasonable request made by management.

Requirements

Must have no allergies to cleaning agents
Must be able to successfully complete the Operators Safety Training Course for Counter Balance Sit-Down Rider Forklift and Electric Walkie Pallet Jack
Ability to read and comprehend instructions and memos
Ability to interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manual
Ability to write simple correspondence
Ability to speak effectively one-on-one
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
Ability to talk or hear and to stand; walk; and use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls
Ability to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
Ability to lift and/or move up to fifty pounds
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
