About The Position

Mr. C Coconut Grove is looking to hire a Houseman to assist our housekeeping team and guest. This position has a competitive wage, depending on experience. From the fourth generation hospitality leaders, brothers Ignazio and Maggio Cipriani, comes Mr. C Miami Coconut Grove. An oasis within bustling South Florida surrounded by breathtaking views of Biscayne Bay and the Coconut Grove skyline. Designed by the world-renowned architecture firm Arquitectonica, the hotel’s interior features a nautical motif by Martin Brudnizki Design Studio. A total of 100 guestrooms and suites with private outdoor terraces, a new Italian dining concept with indoor and outdoor seating and its rooftop Bellini Restaurant and Bar provide guests with attentive European service, complimented by luxury accommodations and amenities. YOUR ROLE AS A HOUSEMAN Houseman’s responsibilities include fixing minor issues (like changing light bulbs) and cleaning building areas, including entrances. To be successful in this role, you should be able to manage various tasks on a daily basis to ensure great customer service and that our operations run smoothly. Keep in mind that our Houseman position requires working in shifts, occasionally on weekends or evenings. Ultimately, you’ll ensure our building is safe, clean, and inviting.

Requirements

  • Previous work experience as a Porter, Janitor or Custodian
  • Hands-on experience with industrial cleaning equipment
  • Available to work overnight, weekends, and holidays
  • Good physical condition, stamina and strength (e.g. to lift heavy equipment and luggage)
  • Familiarity with security regulations
  • Solid verbal communication skills to interact with cleaning staff, technicians and customers
  • Basic mechanical skills
  • Availability to work in shifts and flexible schedules (e.g. weekends and evenings)
  • Grooming: All Employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance per Cipriani standards.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Sweep and mop floors and vacuum carpets
  • Ensure building entrance is free of clutter at all times
  • Direct guests to the reception area or the appropriate office/room
  • Assist houskeepers with carrying our loads of linens, towels, and trash
  • Run errands for guests and employees
  • Fix minor technical issues, like changing bulbs
  • Report damages, call technicians and monitor repairs
  • Maintain stock of cleaning supplies
  • Comply with health and safety regulations
  • Follow evacuation rules in case of emergencies
