About The Position

The Bald Head Island Club is seeking a reliable and hardworking Part-Time Houseman to support our Events team. This position plays a key role in the setup, breakdown, and overall presentation of weddings, banquets, member events, and private functions. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, team-focused, and takes pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization.

Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Strong work ethic and positive attitude
• Team player with good communication skills

Nice To Haves

• Previous hospitality or event experience preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Set up and break down event spaces (tables, chairs, linens, staging, dance floors, décor, etc.)
• Ensure event spaces are clean, organized, and event-ready
• Assist with moving equipment and furniture as needed
• Maintain cleanliness of storage areas and back-of-house spaces
• Respond promptly to event team requests during functions
• Support banquet and operations teams to ensure smooth event execution
• Follow safety guidelines and proper lifting procedures
