About The Position

A large private family is seeking a top-notch houseman/grounds-person for their large estate in Greenwich, CT. The schedule will generally be Monday through Friday, but when the principals are present the position will require flexibility for weekends and longer hours as needed. The family also spends time during the summer in Saratoga Springs, NY and you will need to be present at that residence during the season (July and August). This is an all-in, hands-on role, and the family is looking for someone who is ready to be involved.

Requirements

Seasoned in domestic staffing and experience working in luxury homes and on large estates.
Works well with a team and has a strong work ethic.
Team player.
Self-starter who takes initiative.
Discreet and polished.
Safe and confident driver in the city.
"No job is too big or too small" attitude.
Valid drivers license.
Local to Greenwich CT.
Ability to spend some nights in Saratoga Springs during the summer (July-August).

Responsibilities

Care for the estate, including keeping of the grounds, maintenance, and upkeep of outdoor areas.
Monitoring the home for necessary repairs and upkeep, performing light maintenance.
Hiring and supervising vendors.
Driving the family as needed.
Providing service during events and family gatherings.
Work with existing staff to keep the home in running order, including refilling fridges with water, ordering groceries, running to the store, overseeing the housekeeper, or helping the housekeeper.
Keep house stocked with household products.
Travel to Saratoga Springs during the summer and help make sure the home is running and the family has what they need during the season.
