About The Position

Sandy Lane, a AAA Five (5) Diamond, Forbes Five Star exclusive resort and member of the Leading Hotels of the World is seeking to recruit a Valet in our Accommodation Services Department. Role This person will be responsible for ensuring that services such as guest laundry, luggage packing and unpacking, shoe shining and pressing are carried out for guest in a timely and professional manner.

Requirements

  • A secondary level education is required the ability to read, write and speaking proficiently in English and a basic knowledge of Mathematics is necessary
  • Guest service skills, ability to be self-motivated, converse with guests and be a quick thinker
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office – Word, Excel
  • Ability to work on Property Management System and HOTSOS
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds, work in a fast pace environment and be flexible
  • The successful candidate must in excellent physical condition to perform extensive walking, bending and stretching and be able to handle pressure calmly and professionally in a busy environment.

  • One year’s experience in a similar position will be an asset

Responsibilities

  • Maintains work area, Housekeeping and surrounding areas tidy and clean
  • Collects and returns Valet items from/to the guest
  • Records and communicates pertinent information to the rest of the team
  • Conducts quality checks on guest’s garments and/or personal items
  • Pack/Unpack luggage
  • Provides complementary shoeshine and pressing service
  • Ensures Mobile Packs are packed for champions with chemicals, cleaning tools etc.
  • Ensure all on call items are in stock
  • Handles postage to guest if necessary and assists with other Housekeeping functions
  • Place orders as required and follows through to ensure task is completed
  • Assist with room moving guest rooms
  • Conduct periodic checks of pantries to ensure guest supplies are always in stock; if not place orders - guest supplies, guest accessories etc.
  • Assist in other Housekeeping functions
  • Ability to work on Property Management System, HOTSOS and Lost and Found software
  • Handle lost and found - recording and updating
