Salary: (commensurate with education and experience) With HS Diploma/GED: $18.00 - $19.26 per hour With BA/BS: $19.00 - $20.33 per hour With MA/MS: $20.00 - $21.40 per hour Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health New York provides programs and services for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and dual diagnoses. Located at our main campus in Red Hook, NY, this position is responsible for performing all phases of cleaning and custodial services in assigned areas. The Housekeeper will clean and maintain living units, classrooms, office areas, hallways, and all adjacent areas, including bathrooms and shower facilities, including vacuuming carpets, washing walls and windows, emptying trash and depositing in receptacles, and cleaning desks and other classroom areas. They will operate buffing machine, carpet shampoo equipment, and all commercial cleaning machines, as well as monitor supplies needed for cleaning and maintenance. The Housekeeper will report areas of needed repair/maintenance to their supervisor and will perform custodial-related tasks and special assignments when required. They will be responsible for soliciting assistance for major crisis intervention situations in assigned living units as needed. You deserve to work somewhere that gives back to you! Requirements

  • EDUCATION: Trade School or High School diploma, or GED with one or more years of specialized training. Will waive educational requirement if individual demonstrates three years of custodial experience.
  • EXPERIENCE: One or more year’s experience in housekeeping role required.
  • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Significant and frequent amounts of walking, standing, kneeling and bending. Must be capable of lifting and carrying 70 lbs. or more. Capable of achieving good verbal and written communication. Often requires repetitive use of wrists/hands/legs. Possible exposure to blood borne pathogens. Free of dependency and abuse of illegal or illicit drugs, alcohol, inhalants, or other chemical or controlled substances.
